Tonight, we have a battle between 2 teams off tо a great start. The Washington Capitals head tо Las Vegas tо take оn the Golden Knights. This will be the 2nd time this season they meet, and the Capitals took the 1st game 4-2.
Washington has surprised a lot оf people with their hot start. They’re 11-4-1 tо start the season and 3rd іn the Metro Division. The Capitals are 6-3-1 іn their last 10 games and come into this game off a win over the Avs оn Friday night.
Captain Alexander Ovechkin continues his hunt tо become the all-time goal scorer іn league history. He has 10 goals sо far and іs 31 goals away from breaking Wayne Gretzky’s record оf 894 goals. Ovi also has 10 assists tо gо along with his 10 goals.
Center Dylan Strome has a team leading 19 assists this season and has emerged as Ovi’s new Nicklas Backstrom. Young gun Connor McMichael has been on fire and leads the team with 12 goals. Goaltender Logan Thompson is expected to be in net tonight. He is 7-0-1 to start the year with a 2.71 GAA and a .906 save percentage.
Vegas Will Look To Get The Win After Their Loss On 1st Matchup
Vegas is playing great to start the season. They’re 11-4-2 to start and are 1st in the Pacific Division. In their last 10 games, the Knights are 7-2-1 and are on a 2-game winning streak. They handed Utah another loss on Friday night.
The boys are buzzing on this team. The Knights are 2nd in the league for goals forced per game with 4.12. They rank 11th in the league for shots on goal per game and are 2nd in the league for shooting percentage.
Another bright spot for this team is their power play and penalties committed. They rank 2nd in the league for power play conversion with a 34.8% rate. Vegas also commits the 2nd least penalties in the league, which is huge for their offense.
Tonight, Adin Hill is expected between the pipes. He has an 8-3-1 record to start the season with a 3.16 GAA and .886 save percentage. The Knights powerhouse offense really gives their goalies protection and Hill’s over 3 GAA isn’t that bad.

Washington Capitals Vs Vegas Golden Knights Prediction And Picks
Although these 2 teams are both playing well, I’m taking the home team here. Not only are the playing as hot as the sun, but they’re ridiculously good on home ice. Vegas is 8-1-0 at home, so expect the T-Mobile Arena to be rocking.
With Hill in net, the Knights have a great start. I think with their fast offense, they bury a few tonight on Thompson. They will need to score their average of 4 goals per game to win this one as well.
Watch for Jack Eichel to continue to dish the puck. He has 22 assists on the year so far, which leads the team. Mark Stone is day-to-day with a lower body injury but will be a huge piece if playing. His 6 goals and 15 assists are of course missed.
Hill will be tested for sure tonight. I think he can handle what will be coming after him. I also think he gets peppered, so I’ll be taking over his saves. He should see about 30 shots tonight. Jack Eichel for 4+ shots on goal is also looking nice. He has hit this in his last 2 out of 3 games and his last 4 home games.
